Great place to stop on the way to Connemara. Well preserved grounds and Castle. Even better when it's sunny :)

Very informative tour. Not as busy as other castles. Scenery is spectacular.

A nicely restored castle 2km outside Oughterard. Guided tours are available. Admission is €5 per adult or €3 with student id.
It takes about 45 minutes to see the castle and walk the grounds, however, there is little to do other than read about the history of the castle and O'Flaherty clan, and some photo opportunities.
There is open water and the possibility of falling from walls so supervision of children is advised.

Well preserved, clear historical information displayed. Perhaps missing the video like in others castles, but still it is worth the visit.
