The town of Sare put a lot of effort into showing their caves in their best light. Timed projectors and speakers guide you through the layers of this pretty huge cave. The site is accessible to wheelchairs but only the entrance of the caves is.

Beautiful place (thank you nature), beyond that the tour is a disappointment. The guide is there pretty much just to walk you from one point to another, while a pre-recorded commentary is given. There is barely any historical perspective given, the tour ends up being a Disney Land attraction for kids. Avoid if not a french speaker, there's nothing beyond a laminated sheet of translated text, which you can't even read in the cave since it's dark. Avoid if interested in history or biology.

Very nice caves. I just missed being able to explore them on my own, but I guess it's not very wise to allow people visiting them on their own

Very large cave with a lot of history, nicely described in a 45 guided tour. A pity that English is available only on printed translation sheets. Shape of the cave is different then your regular narrow tunnel with stalactites and that makes it special.

Very informed guide and interesting tour in tte large caves. Note that neither photos nor dogs are allowed in the caves
