Beautifully kept fortress which is easily accessible for most. People in wheelchairs can gawk at the exterior but will find the interior unreachable. Same goes for strollers. Older children who can walk on their own will love exploring the nooks and crannies and you will adore the view! While we were there, parking was free and you had the option to pay for a ride up the hill. Or you can walk. It's a 10 minute walk uphill. Entry is cash only, but worth every lei!

The fortress is situated on a hill next to Rasnov city offering a nice view of the surrounding area if the weather is good. From the parking lot there is a short walk, 15 minutes, to the entrance or you can take the small bus that you will have to pay. On the way there is Dino Park, an attraction museum with dinosaur replicas. Quite popular with the kids. In the fortress itself there is not much to see. Keep in mind that you are here mostly for the view.

A very nice place. Great view over the landscape below. It's a nice walk up to the fortress. Also there's carts taking people up to the fortress for a small fee. Beautiful souvenirs like local craft can be bought at the site.

Historical peasant stronghold, pretty well preserved and restored (some parts). If local souvenirs merchants can be ignored, the visit might be educative and informative. Local registered guides are available.

There used to be more things to see when I visited the citadel a few years ago. Many doors are locked and a lot of cool areas and structures are closed to the public. I didn't like the fact that I saw cables and seriously indiscrete surveillance cameras everywhere. The place is nice tho, and a nice view but there is a lot of work still to be done.
