Historically speaking this place is fantastic. It's incredible to see the old walls, buildings and pathways. But beware when visiting in the winter. There are not as many exhibits open but all of the shops are. You kinda feel like you are in a warped tourist time trap. Even the tractor based shuttle service which costs 5 Lei per person is just another way to milk the tourists. Pro tip, don't take the tractor. Save some money and walk it. It will likely be faster since they wait until they get a certain number of people before leaving.

If you pass by Rasnov is a must go and visit the fortress.... very nice and we had such a good time. Is a relaxing hike and full of history. You can walk or take a minicar to the top. At the bottom of the fortress are some fine restaurant where u can get something to eat or relax with a drink. Overall we had a great time and definitely we will come back again

Historical place recently restored, amazing views of the valley ,the city and the mountains. Unfortunately the elevator didn't work and the way was wet and slippery as it had been snowing the day before. The parking wasn't cleaned, the information point was closed and toilets were awful.

Visiting Rasnov stronghold is a must for those who spend their weekend in vecinity. I do recommend getting a tour guide as he/she can give you insights and walk you through history of the fortress that you wouldn't normally get. We visited with our friends and 4 children and everyone get something out of tour. The view from top is stunning.

Definitely worth going to see. I liked it more than Bran Castle personally. Small shops and sellers randomly throughout the citadel, but it doesn't overwhelm the experience. Signage is in English, German and Romanian. Great views of both the valley and the mountains.
