Interesting, unexpected, free, opportunity to see surfing in downtown Munich. Easy to access, located at a bridge on one end of the English garden. Surfers are present, even in the winter. Try watching from the side of the river and from the bridge for different perspectives. A great place to visit for 5-15 minutes.

Really cool standing wave in the middle of the city. Some really committed surfers too. I was there in winter and there was a large contingent surfing.

it is nice and interesting and something special, but that's it. if you stay there 10 minutes, that's enough for your life. there many points in munich that are nicer or more interesting

Surfing dudes in the city - never expected anything like this. The town does forbid it but people are doing it with pretty much no consequences- very nice summer activity!

Unexpected spot to find surfers, in the English garden of Munich. The man made river has enough strength here to support a board, even though the width is narrow. Nice spot to come and watch the infectious enthusiasm of both the surfers and the crowd.
