A superb palace from the XVI century, now converted into a huge museum. Worth a visit when you have time. If you are lucky, plan to visit on day of bell concert. You'll be amazed by the sound of one of the largest collection of bells you'll ever find. Different types of music can be played with bells, from classic to rock, you just have to be there in the right day.

If you don't visit this palace you are missing out! The beauty of this massive palace is outstanding. It used to be guarded by the royal army, but mostly a religious place. Still is religious!

Silent and peaceful place, great for yoga, walks and relaxing on a enchanted garden mood. Occasionally you can listen to local street performers playing Renaissance style music. Small handcrafted sells always available.

Beautiful palace. The scale is hard to imagine or describe. The *only* negative I can think of personally is that even as impressive and grand and beautiful as it is, it doesn't feel genuinely Portuguese to me. It feels like an attempt to be Italian.

Beautiful piece of architecture, nice museum and bearer of history. I especialy enjoyed the tour inside and explanations about the lifevof monks. Beside is a nice park.
